University to Recognize Outstanding Student Scholars

AAMU to Celebrate Academic Excellence at 2025 Honors Convocation
Alabama A&M University will host its Annual Academic Honors Convocation on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Event Center. This esteemed ceremony celebrates the academic achievements of the University’s most distinguished students. Faculty, staff, students, and supporters are encouraged to mark their calendars to recognize and support these exceptional scholars.
During the convocation, the University will honor recipients of the Presidential Medallion, Freshman President’s Award, Dean’s List, Freshman Dean’s List, and Honor Roll distinctions.
The Presidential Medallion is awarded to students maintaining a 3.7 or higher cumulative GPA while completing at least 12 semester hours per semester in both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, with distinctions of Gold (4.0 GPA), Silver (3.8–3.99 GPA), and Bronze (3.7–3.79 GPA).
The Freshman President’s Award honors first-time freshmen who achieve a 4.0 GPA in their first semester with at least 12 semester hours.
The Dean’s List recognizes students with a cumulative 3.3 GPA or higher for two consecutive semesters, earning no grade below a "C," while the Freshman Dean’s List is awarded to first-time freshmen meeting the same GPA and credit hour requirements in their first semester.
The Honor Roll is granted to students achieving a semester GPA of 3.0 or better, with no grade below a "C," while completing at least 12 semester hours.
