The Alabama A&M University ROTC Bulldog Battalion will host an Out of Cycle 2024 Commissioning Ceremony on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Clyde Foster Auditorium.

Alabama A&M Professor of Military Science LTC Early Howard, Jr. will be the guest speaker. Howard earned his sociology degree at Alabama A&M, was subsequently commissioned a second lieutenant and served in Korea, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and elsewhere around the world before returning to his alma mater in 2022 to lead the ROTC Program.

The October 1 ceremony will mark the commissioning of two cadets who graduated earlier this year.

Cadet Maria Hicks, a biology major who graduated from Alabama A&M on May 3, 2024, will be commissioned into the Army Reserve as a Second Lieutenant with the Quartermaster Corps.

Cadet Jaylon Berrien, who earned a business degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville on August 3, 2024, will serve Active Duty as a Second Lieutenant with the Transportation Corps.

Alabama A&M University invites the community to join in celebrating the accomplishments of these future Army Officers at this significant event.
