Alabama A&M Students Gain Exposure to Career Opportunities
Students Tour U.S. NRC Technical Training Center
Eight AAMU students and three faculty members recently visited the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Technical Training Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Students participated in the periodic training offered to federal, state, industry, hospitals, and other agencies where nuclear materials or instrumentations are used.
“In addition to a tour of the facility, the Alabama A&M team had opportunities to
interact with NRC’s training and inspection staff members and learn about exciting
internship and employment opportunities," says Dr. Mebougna Drabo.
The tour included a demonstration of the inspection systems, technology, instruments,
and the Reactor Simulator and Control Room. Finally, internship and employment opportunities
and the benefits were discussed, followed by Q&A.
