Researcher Becomes Distinguished IFT Fellow
Professor receives organization's highest honor
A professor and chair of Alabama A&M University's Department of Food and Animal Sciences has been elected into the 2019 class of an internationally respected organization.
With her distinction as an IFT Fellow, Dr. Martha Verghese has been accorded the highest honor bestowed by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT).
The rigorous selection process entails judging by peers and IFT Fellows from across the nation. The group heavily considered Verghese's impact on the profession and its research, innovations, promotion and policy, as well as her service to IFT and her previous awards, recognition and leadership.
